Classic 0S18

I bought an OS35 with 2 extensions and the mobility kit and the hydraulic kit. It was about $18k not including financing costs. The saw head so far is good and it is simple. The carriage is a good. The issues are with the assembly of the hydraulic kit onto/with the trailer kit. With an extension, you need to move the hydraulic kit more towards the middle of the track assembly.(the manual says nothing about it and there are no bolt holes to do it, drill baby drill) The hydraulic kit adds a lot of weight to the trailer assembly. I have not weighed it yet, when putting the weight of the saw mill onto the tounge of the hitch, the hitch flexes about a foot, I will not tow it on the highway the way it is. I do think it is to heavy for the trailer kit the way it is from the factory.(I will share weight if I am allowed to update, I will wait to do other reviews (like google) until I can share the weight) The manual (I have two different editions) says,"If your sawmill is equipped with the optional mobility package: See "Operation Instructions: Towing the mill with the optional Mobility/Support Leg Kit". There is no additional information, the section that is referenced does not exist in any of my manuals. If you read other reviews for Frontier Sawmills, the manuals are quite bad. I actually drilled over 100 holes making the track carriage and trailer kit and the hydraulic kit work. I welded extra supports onto the trailer frame because of how much it flexes. A few other things: the nuts and bolts are a mixed assortment of SAE and Metric sizes, the paint affects the assembly of the hydraulic kit, I had to dissasemle and grind. I had a few bolts that were too short, the plate that holds the trailer hitch was just off and I just welded it together. I received different hoses from what the manual said and Frontier did ship fittings to correct. The hydraulic kit is very new, so there are early product issues that all companies must correct. The people I spoke to are nice but you can tell that the management isn't really thinking this product out very well; the manuals and the lack of thought with the hydraulic kit and the trailer kit is very evident. I have seen reviews for the smaller sawmills and people are happy. I am over all satisfied with the mill but I have a welder and a shop and a tractor to help with assembly and so I could make the necessary modifications and some later. Would I buy it again? Yes. What will I do for my next mill? I will build my own. I will get more experience using this one and I will build my own. You can't finance a homemade sawmill or any other type of machine, so I had to buy a factory made one that I could afford and it needed to be big.

Ibought it and asked for a delivery in the new year but they sent it right away. I refused delivery and they shipped it all over and when my delivery window came it arrived with trash, food and drinks dumped into the open corner. Sugar sticky and trash ran over it. I opened and cleaned best I could and did not want to deal with all this extra. I was so mad I just left it there in a building. No one there cared about what happened nd it was their fault for shipping when I was leaving for Flordia.

Bought the mill and assembled 7 months ago. I have used it a ton. In general the mill runs and preforms as I expected. However, The assembly process was a nightmare and the directions were better off not being included. Some of the parts such as the tow kit didn’t fit correctly. You need to own tools and be handy to assemble which I am sure most of the people interested probably are. All that being said I would buy again, directions just need improvements. I should also note that the staff and customer service is excellent and willing to help along the way.

The engine works fine there was a problem with the electric start when I received the mill.

Wish it had electric start, and a way to turn logs. Otherwise a very nice mill.

This is my first experience with a mill. It is a good starting point with a steep learning curve. The manual is not intuitive for assembly or adjustment but with trial and error as well as a few YouTube videos you will get it going. Spare parts are expensive through Frontier but aftermarket belts are available. Throttle adjustment to get maximum rpm is important as well is belt tension. Next on the list is blade tracking and guide adjustments. Poor design and hardware make the blade lube system nearly useless. The inconvenient location of the recoil start makes starting difficult. For the price, it is a fair deal but there are better mills on the market

Very nice running motor the only thing I would change is how the throttle mounts to the motor

The engine has is reliable and easy starting. Has plenty of power for the largest logs.

Magnet dropped out of flywheel and locked engine. Repaired and back runnig in 3 days.Covered by Briggs warranty. Good engine overall.

All the power I need to cut hardwood. Set all winter (michigan) started like I had run it the day before. Very pleased with it and the sawmill

Flawless! The 10hp keeps it from bogging. I've cut 90% white oak. The rest assorted other oaks & some hickory. I've maxed out diameter & length. I may need to get a bigger saw.

the assembly instructions are not the best, i had to do multable adjustments to make it cut close to straight, the brake is very cheap and unreliable, a possitive lock would be better, if you dont adjust it it will creap during a cut.the saftey system failed after two months of use, (13 logs milled). would i buy another one, No!

Cutting my own lumber is extremely satisfying
